The foundation of digital sovereignty

The cloud is now a given for many organizations, but in cloud and hybrid environments, businesses and government agencies are increasingly losing control over data, access, costs, and operations. At the same time, pressure is increasing to deliver services faster and meet strict legal and regulatory requirements.

Added to this is a mix of complex, hybrid landscapes, underestimated architectural and operational requirements, confusion between resilience and availability, and an unmanaged multi-cloud environment. This brings into focus the question of how to design cloud architectures that combine sovereignty, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.

Why act now?

Digital services must be deployed faster, operated more reliably, and continuously modernized. However, this pressure conflicts with the growing complexity of cloud and hybrid environments. Organizations are realizing that simply using the cloud does not drive progress. Only cloud readiness enables modernization and prevents speed from coming at the expense of stability and productivity.

Stricter regulations such as NIS-2 increase the requirement for end-to-end risk management, clear reporting channels, and traceable security measures. Organizations must systematically assess risks, demonstrate technical and organizational controls, and design their operating models so that they are audit-ready at all times. This also includes operating cloud environments in a C5-ready manner, as standards such as the BSI Criteria Catalog now define the minimum requirements for cloud services.

Many cloud environments are highly available but not resilient: compromised identities, ransomware, and misconfigurations remain key risks. Resilience, however, requires more than just redundancy. It requires architectural principles, clear responsibilities, and automated operational processes. Standards such as the BSI C5 Criteria Catalog provide transparency in this regard and support secure deployment in line with increasing compliance expectations as well as a comprehensive understanding of security.

IT landscapes are rarely uniform: data centers, edge systems, and public clouds coexist side by side. Different operating models, fragmentation, and a lack of architectural standards make unified management difficult. This increases digital complexity while the number of dependencies grows. To make this diversity manageable and reduce risks, organizations need integrated approaches built on a stable infrastructure.

Many organizations have set multi-cloud as a strategic goal, but a lack of zoning, inconsistent policies, and limited automation increase complexity and risks. The challenge lies in connecting international hyperscaler services with private cloud infrastructures. Only a consistent operational and governance model makes this combination manageable and economically viable, enabling secure deployment, scalability, and true data sovereignty.

Our Services Our components for sovereign cloud capabilities

For us, Sovereign & Resilient Cloud means cloud capabilities that deliver control. Not as an alternative, but as a clear solution to the complexity of modern IT realities. We combine strategy, architecture, automation, and operations into an integrated approach that enables cloud and hybrid environments to be designed securely, resiliently, and cost-effectively, allowing organizations to retain control over sensitive, critical workloads. This creates a cloud landscape that runs stably, keeps risks manageable, and enables digital transformation.

Why conet?

We design cloud environments that operate reliably, remain manageable, and can be modernized at any time − even under stringent requirements for security, compliance, and resilience. For nearly 40 years, we have been delivering robust solutions, adhering to BSI Basic Protection standards, and leveraging industry-specific expertise, certified staff, and secure data centers.

Robust architecture

We develop secure, auditable, and upgradeable architectures. To achieve this, we combine clear zoning and security models with consistent design principles to create a cloud structure that combines stability, scalability, and future-proofing.

Resilience from the very beginning

For us, resilience is an integral part of our planning from the very beginning. We rely on clear recovery strategies, automated monitoring, defined incident response capabilities, and robust operational models to ensure stable operations and continuous operational readiness.

Systematic security

We accurately translate high security requirements − ranging from BSI Baseline Protection to C5 requirements − into cloud and hybrid architectures. This results in environments that remain compliant with regulations, operationally resilient, and manageable over the long term, without compromising on innovation.

Tested operational readiness

We integrate identity and access models, monitoring, backup, and recovery directly into our architecture and operations. This ensures that environments remain efficient in day-to-day operations and can respond reliably in the event of an incident, while all operational and decision-making processes are traceable, thereby guaranteeing secure delivery.

Technological independence

conet is technology- and provider-agnostic. We integrate robust and commercial platforms tailored to your needs, taking into account security requirements, cost-effectiveness, and objectives − from AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud to Delos, IONOS, STACKIT, or private cloud environments.

Controllable throughout the lifecycle

We are developing sovereign and resilient cloud into a robust capability that spans the entire lifecycle. Strategy, architecture, automation, and operations work together seamlessly. This ensures that your cloud remains manageable, economically viable, and capable of being modernized over the long term.
