Full Data Control: sovira.ai From CONET Enables Building Sovereign AI Assistants for Public Authorities and Companies

With the new sovira.ai platform, public administrations and private companies can create sovereign and secure AI assistants. These can be hosted in their own data center, in the public cloud, or in the BSI-certified CONET Cloud.

Bonn, November 5, 2025. Based on the new sovira.ai platform solution from CONET, organizations and companies with high security requirements can now create their own sovereign AI assistance systems. This reduces their dependence on international technology providers for artificial intelligence (AI) and at the same time prevents sensitive information from leaving their own protected environment through the use of shadow AI.

sovira.ai is a technical and organizational environment in which AI applications can be deployed and operated. This platform is based on open-source technology and enables the creation of AI assistants by integrating their own, local large language model (LLM) that accesses proprietary data in a protected area. Nevertheless, it is still possible to integrate external providers (such as Open AI, Anthropic, Azure Open AI).

Avoid vendor lock-in, ensure technological sovereignty, curb shadow AI

The AI assistants created with the help of sovira.ai can be hosted as an on-premise solution in your own data centers, deployed in the public cloud, or obtained as a software-as-a-service application from the BSI-certified CONET Cloud, which the Bonn-based company operates entirely in its German data centers. This allows user organizations to avoid vendor lock-in and achieve maximum technological sovereignty, as the own data that feeds the assistants remains under the organization's complete control. At the same time, the use of verified, internal data virtually eliminates the undesirable hallucinations of common, public LLMs. In addition, the AI assistants can break down exactly which data sets the output information comes from.

Scenarios for using AI assistants based on sovira.ai include accessible services provided by public authorities and companies, as well as internal knowledge management within organizations. Especially in internal applications, sovira.ai offers secure alternatives to so-called "shadow AI," in which employees use uncontrolled, sometimes private and unauthorized AI tools—a practice that, according to recent Bitkom surveys, is becoming increasingly common.

Analysis features and customizable interface

IT personnel in public authorities and companies benefit from a customizable user interface, high scalability, comprehensive analysis reports, and user statistics. In addition, CONET supports the entire project management process and offers comprehensive training options.

"Many AI initiatives today fail because of data protection issues," says Christian Ballhorn, Executive Vice President of Data Intelligence & AI at the CONET Group.  "With sovira.ai, we enable public administration and the private sector to unleash the full potential of generative AI – with full data control, securely and confidently. sovira.ai is a flexible platform developed in Germany that makes knowledge accessible and can be seamlessly integrated into any IT landscape."

sovira.ai is available now. Costs are calculated individually based on project requirements.
