New Headquarters: CONET Moves to Offices in the Tower of the “Neue Kanzlerplatz” in Bonn's Federal Quarter

Modern working environments: Flexible work and mobility concepts, sustainable procurement and regional partners create IT jobs with excellent career outlook

Bonn, July 25, 2023. Moving accomplished! With the entry of the relocation of the company's headquarters in the Commercial Register of the Bonn District Court, it is official: IT consulting company CONET has moved into its new corporate headquarters. Around 600 employees from the companies of the CONET Group are thus changing their focus of activity from Hennef and Niederkassel to Bonn and therefore even closer to the river Rhine. CONET's modern working environments now extend over ten floors in the tower of the “Neuer Kanzlerplatz” or “New Chancellor Square”, the newly built urban development quarter in Bonn's federal district near the Reuterbrücke bridge - postal address: Bundeskanzlerplatz 2, 53113 Bonn.

"Our company has grown strongly in recent years, so we looked for a new property for our CONET headquarters," explains Anke Höfer, CEO of the CONET Group of Companies. "We are very happy that we found an ideal and future-proof location in the office building development 'Neuer Kanzlerplatz', which we were able to design according to our demands for a perfect working environment."

People at the center of sustainable design

Since the company was founded in 1987, CONET’s very own corporate constitution CONET LIFE has been characterized by a focus on people. "We also wanted to take this core of our self-image into account when relocating our company headquarters in the 35th year of our existence," emphasizes Anke Höfer. Accordingly, the office spaces are open, bright and designed in fresh color concepts in line with the corporate design. Work islands and open-meeting areas promote creativity, exchange and collaboration, while meeting and concentration areas provide zones of retreat. A special acoustic concept, indoor plantings and a modern ventilation system ensure a pleasant working environment. These best-of-breed working spaces not only benefit employees – collaboration with customers also reaches a new level of interaction in the meeting rooms equipped for agile project methods such as design thinking.

Sustainable design and procurement also characterize the interior design of the CONET floors in the building, which is already designed to be energy-efficient and has been awarded LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). The furniture is predominantly made of wood and comes from European, mostly even German, pro duction. Presence-controlled lighting saves energy. Innovative supply systems in the bistros on each floor provide hot or cold water from a single tap, including carbonated water on the touch of a button.

Sustainability also plays an important role in the mobility concept for CONET's new headquarters: The good connections to public transport and the subsidized provision of the “Deutschlandticket”, for example, make it easier to get to work by bus and train. The company's own bicycle cellar with showers and changing rooms as well as corporate job bike leasing offers are further incentives to avoid traveling by car. Battery charging facilities for e-bikes and charging stations for e-cars also promote electromobility.

Flexible working concepts create IT jobs with excellent career outlook

The hybrid working approach will continue to improve the work-life balance for employees, save commuting time and help optimize the utilization of office space. However, according to CEO Anke Höfer, CONET attaches particular importance to striking the right balance: "Offering a variety of home office or mobile working options is important and appropriate today. However, the years of the covid-19 pandemic have also shown that many employees want a real professional home and personal contact with colleagues - it's the mix that makes it!"

In addition to increased customer proximity and improved accessibility, CONET also expects its attractive location to provide valuable impetus for dealing with the shortage of skilled workers: "As a successful consulting company that has retained its medium-sized character despite its growth and continues to score points with an excellent working atmosphere, we offer 'IT jobs with excellent career outlook’ in more than one respect when you think of our offices on the 12th to 21st floors with a spectacular  view of Bonn, the Siebengebirge and down the Rhine all the way to Cologne," Anke Höfer sums up.

Special thanks to strong regional partners

In addition to the project developers of Cologne-based Art-Invest Real Estate, who have since handed over the quarter to Düsseldorf-based Union Investment Real Estate, CONET would like to extend special thanks to its predominantly regional partners, who provided great commitment and expertise in the interior design and layout of the office spaces. Among others, stanke interiordesign from Euskirchen, PRG Projekt Rheinland AG from Cologne, Böcking Kemmerling Raumakustik from Neuss, cramer-concept-store from Rheinbach, Roland Säger GmbH from Grafschaft and JK RAUMDESIGN from Wesseling played a leading role.
