Corporate Social Responsibility
Accepting corporate social responsibility is an integral element of sustainable economic activity. Especially enterprises who act successfully in their markets are required to participate in it.
Naturally, CONET assumes this responsibility and commits itself in various ways for a positive social development. A solid society and not least a steady environment are factors to enhance an enterprise’s strength. In the first place the focus shall be on the people as they characterize the social life/togetherness and form the backbone of our work.
The focus is on the people
We have anchored these facts in our motto „People work for and with people“. It describes the mutually respectful and responsible interactions, the qualified education at CONET’s and not least the longstanding cooperation with our customers.
Our success proves us right – not only in economic figures, but as well as in the examination results of our apprentices, the awards for CONET as a top educator and a top employer. It is mirrored, too, in our regular surveys which prove a customer satisfaction rate of more than 90 percent.
Promotion of the corporate social engagement
Society means more than the daily working environment, and social responsibility reflects particularly in the extra-corporate social engagement. Every year CONET promotes – both with financial and in-kind donations – non-profit organisations by organising an annual competition for charitable funds at the CONET headquarters Hennef.
A jury consisting of COMET employees throughout all hierarchies of the enterprise elects the donation recipients. Their focus hereby lies on the sustainability of the promoted projects.
Assuming social responsibility means for CONET e. g. this year to support the civic commitment of five regional associations and organizations with 15,000 Euros. Donations went to the INTERKULT Meeting Center in Hennef, the county-wide Life Aid Counseling Association, the regional Aid for the Psychologically Ill, our hometown’s Old People's Welfare Association and the regional office of the German Child Protection League. Additionally, an open workshop project and a local refugee helping association received 10 used notebooks each for supporting their work.
„Our society is facing a number of crucial challenges, like increasing poverty among the elderly and the young, demographic changes and the integration of refugees. Since volunteering, public funding and the willingness to donate are all generally in decline, we perceive it as an integral part of our corporate responsibility to support regional associations and volunteers in their work for the less fortunate members of our society“, declares CONET CEO Anke Höfer.
