The self-service portal
An employee portal is not only used to provide information; it also actively integrates the user into HR processes. Within the concept of ESS (Employee Self Services) you find a large number of Web-based applications that are available via the Internet or portal.
In human resource management, employee self services support the maintenance of employee data and personnel development. Standard processes such as address changes, time logging, applications for leave, or travel expense reports become much more efficient, as the employee maintains the data himself in areas made available to him. After subsequent release, the information is automatically sent to the associated data storage systems.
